James, was born on May 8th, 1971 in Washington D.C. He is the third child born to parents, Diane and James Henry Fowler Jr. James attended public schools in Washington D.C. and Prince George's County and later graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 1989. James was raised in a very spiritual family environment, while regularly attending Bible Study and Sunday Service at the Soul Saving Center for Christ. James was an amateur boxer winning several boxing tournaments as a member of the Hillcrest Heights Boxing Club. James enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He is a people person, always putting others first, especially his family. James is a huge fan of the Washington Commanders, an avid swimmer and all-around wonderful person
Since being wrongfully convicted and incarcerated since 1994, James has continued to speak out and be very adamant about his Innocence. While in prison James has continued to further educate himself through self-education and being involved in whatever the prison has offer to him. James has become a certified physical trainer and received an Associate’s Degree from Ashworth College in Psychology. He is currently enrolled at University of Baltimore pursusing his Bachelor Degree in Human Service. He also spends his time in prison helping with Big Brother Programs and Mentoring mainly younger inmates to deter them from making the same mistakes/bad choices that brought them to prison by helping prepare them mentally, physically and spiritually for their return to society. James has also participated in mentoring group outside of prison through both letters and phone calls and has provided a great impact. While incarcerated, James continues to serve the community throughout the DMV area through his non-fit, Never Give Up Productions. The last five years he has been actively having yearly Stop the Violent Events, Turkey giving away and Coat Drive
